Harry’s stomach twisted. He had brought his sons in because Josh had severe anemia, prompting the doctor to run additional tests. Andrew was healthy, but Josh’s condition had raised concerns. Harry had also undergone a blood test to check if he could be a donor for his son if necessary.

“So, do we know how to proceed with Josh?” Harry asked anxiously once the boys left.

Dr. Dennison leaned back in his chair, his expression serious. “Mr. Campbell, let me first assure you that Josh’s anemia can be managed with supplements. My concern lies elsewhere. I wanted to discuss something delicate with you.”

Harry felt a wave of relief about Josh’s condition, but the doctor’s tone made him tense. “What do you mean?”

“Mr. Campbell, were the boys adopted?” the doctor asked, his question landing like a bombshell.

“What? No! Why would you ask that?” Harry responded, baffled.

Dr. Dennison hesitated before continuing. “This might be difficult to hear, but your blood type is incompatible with both boys. I ran additional tests to confirm, and the results indicate that you cannot be their biological father.”

Harry’s heart stopped. “That doesn’t make sense! Blood type can vary in biological families. This must be a mistake.”

The doctor nodded sympathetically. “It’s true that blood type alone isn’t definitive. That’s why I also ran a DNA test on the samples. Mr. Campbell, the results show that you and the twins share DNA, but not as a father and sons. You’re their half-brother.”

The words hit Harry like a freight train. The twins, whom he had loved and raised for 12 years, were not his sons. Instead, they were his half-brothers. That could only mean one thing—their biological father was his own father, Robert.

Harry staggered out of the office, the papers with the test results clenched in his shaking hands. As he drove home, anger and confusion swirled within him. Nancy froze, her face pale. Before she could respond, Robert interjected, “Son, it’s not what you think—”

“DNA doesn’t lie!” Harry roared. “I want the truth, Nancy!”

Tears welled up in Nancy’s eyes as she confessed. She recounted the night in Las Vegas 13 years earlier, when she had met Robert. They had shared a passionate one-night stand, unaware of the connection that would later tie them together. When she discovered she was pregnant, she felt lost and confided in a friend. That friend encouraged her to pursue a relationship with Harry, whom Nancy met shortly afterward.

“I didn’t know Robert was your father until later,” Nancy admitted. “When I realized, I thought it was too late to say anything. I wanted the boys to have a father, and you were so good to them…”

“You lied to me for 12 years,” Harry said, his voice low and trembling. “You both lied.”

Robert tried to step in. “I didn’t know at first either. When I found out, Nancy convinced me to keep quiet. She said the boys were yours.”

“You’re both monsters,” Harry spat, his gaze burning with anger.
